Tingsek Is Tops
Forget Måns Zelmerlöw. Magnus Tingsek is the musician from Skåne who should be famous. They screened a documentary on him last night here in Lund to a packed house. In the film he talked about, besides the obvious, his departure from the Universal label to form his own company, World Of It’s Own Recordings, and the imminent release of his string quartet project. I’m pretty confident his unique blend of pop, indie rock, classical, and blues would be a huge hit in the U.S. I spoke with Tingsek after the show, gave him my card, and told him to contact me if he comes to California. Musicians need to network, too.
